I did not know poetry, lives I thought you sit and sleep Alone in a dark corner Recite to yourself your own fantasy Until somebody stumbles on it And mine a treasure hidden there While you wreath in insecurity That’s a life of a poet To be confidently inspired Yet to suffer when it’s to be pried by many eyes That’s poetry At its bloom To repel the seator And draw hordes of admiring fans.
